Road To RIoT 2018 has been running since March 2018, which started with Gresik as the first city to start this series of events. As you know, Road To RIoT is a series of events that precede the RIoT (Republic of IoT) Conference 2018 which scheduled to be held in August. We went to various cities in Indonesia to gather talented and creative creators to jointly advance IoT in the country.
On 23-24 March 2018, we started the Road To RIoT roadshow series in Gresik. The event was a collaboration between Makestro and Muhammadiyah University Gresik (UMG). This event is entitled “Mastery and Utilization of IoT in the Globalization Era”. Why is this theme? Because our aim is for the people to better utilize and master the IoT (Internet of Things) technology for the better livelihood.
The Road To RIoT Gresik event coincided with the Information Technology Week (PTI) at Muhammadiyah University Gresik. In a seminar that presented around 175 participants from both university and public, there were two speakers who delivered their materials. Head of Information Engineering UMG, Deni Sutaji, SKom, MKom. conveyed his subject on IoT structure and its application in industry. The next speaker was Endang Suwarna, Maker / Programmer from Buittenzorg Makers Club. He gave the subject ‘Let Your Skill Pay Your Bills’ which describe IoT as a source of income. On the second day, Hisyam Kamil from DycodeX gave a workshop on the use of ESPectro32.
